simply awesome

i am so excited to have made so many connections through the one world, one heart project.  The world is truly such a small place.  I think that the best part about one world, one heart is the amazing and different art that I have seen.  I am such a creature of habit.  I visit the same blogs everyday...sometimes I will wonder off through a link to a new one, but mostly I just view the same ones.  I scrapbook & art journal & sell on etsy.com so most of my blog reading tends to follow this trend.  Can I just say that tonight I was so inspired by all the different forms of art I have seen.  I can't wait for the drawing tomorrow.

Most notably, I so enjoyed this blog.  I love that poetry can reach in and make you nod your head and say, I experienced this.  "This Girl Remembers" is a journey I encourage you to take.  It is real.

I also am so delighted that I made a connection with Sherry from Esprit *d'Art.  She also has a shop on  Etsy and creates sassy pieces like this one, which I am in total love with.  Her blog is also full of eye candy and she currently has a great meme. Thank you Sherry for the great journal prompt.

Tell 5 unusual things about yourself that people might not know.

  1. I have a healthy fear of trains because Hobo's may or may not be on them.
  2. I stockpile Crystal Light to go packets (I have over 150 at any given time) because I fear they will stop making it.
  3. Waterworld is my most favorite movie (and yes, I get slack for this.)
  4. I read magazines back to front.
  5. I once had to out run an alligator at a wild life preserve.

I would like to tag anyone reading this...leave me a comment and let me know if you used this meme too.
Until tomorrow.  Be happy, just be.

april, may, june, july...a blur

Last time  I updated this blog, I was sitting in my hotel room at the four seasons, Tokyo.  Life certainly can hand you a whopping deck of cards when you aren't looking.

Living in the moment is something that I have been striving for since early February and I actually feel blessed that I have worked so hard to find that balance, because life hasn't been very easy since that hotel room in Tokyo.

I have lost alot, but I have gained a few things too.  I feel happy, content, grateful almost everyday now.  For the moment that is all I can ask for.  *jeny

The Journey::Mary Oliver

One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice--
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
"Mend my life!"
each voice cried.
But you didn't stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations,
though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.
But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do--
determined to save
the only life you could save.
